"Brilliant ideas often seem ridiculous"

As part of any design thinking innovative process or model, crazy ideas get generated.

Innovation and Design Thinking Processes and Models

Some of these ideas push what's possible with technology and others are simply impossible.

To verify that these groundbreaking ideas are possible, companies, teams or individuals create small, purpose specific prototypes that use the real programming language (i.e. if you're creating a web technology don't use native mobile language or touch designer to validate) which demonstrate that the technology is feasible as well as giving a feel as to how it works in its final form.

What makes a good prototype? How to prototype effectively

It is possible that this prototype demonstrates that the idea is not feasible and this is OK.
