What is Desk Research?
Desk Research, also known as secondary research, involves reviewing existing, published work to gain a broader understanding of the field or topic of study.
When creating a new product, service or experience (i.e. a creation) it is strongly recommended that a company or individual carries out research to get a better understanding of the target audience (i.e. who it is that you are creating for, what their needs are and how they are not being met).
Desk Research is considered both quantitative and qualitative and is particularly powerful as it enables a company or individual to gather a deep understanding of the target audience, field or topic through the research carried out by others.
