A short, time-boxed period where a team completes an objective with a set amount of work.

Sprints are at the heart of Agile Methodologies and Scrum and are periods of roughly 2-3 weeks where teams carry out a specific amount of work to meet an objective which is decided upon during a sprint planning or sprint grooming ceremony.

Sprints are beneficial as they focus teams or individuals on specific work with an end goal in mind. They also allow for regular deliveries, enabling a feedback loop into the development process that results in a higher quality outcome.
