What is a Project Skeleton?

A flower that represents Project Management with the text “Project Skeleton” beneath it.

The most basic version of a codebase in the form of a scaffolding or structure that sets up a development project up for success.

A visual that demonstrates a circular iterative process that goes from define, which is symbolized as a document, to clarify, which is symbolized as a geometric alignment, through creation which is symbolized as a nucleus.

As part of bringing a production version of a digital product, service or experience to life a company must setup the project up for success so that a team can work efficiently.

It is also recommended that teams integrate Agile Methodologies or Scrum into their process.

Our recommended approach to doing this is to create a scaffolding or structure, known as a project skeleton that matches a user experience map and which allows screens/webapges, features or visuals to be developed independently without blocking a team's development ability.

This project skeleton should include elements such as all the screens/webpages and files that are required for development to be carried out as well notes that inform how app and coordinators allow the system to function in unison.

These coordinators should include a Styleguide, that are required to execute your Technology Design System.
